Quinn is a student midwife, certified birth doula, movement director & dance artist based in East Los Angeles, California.

I am interested in spaces where time is experienced differently. I find that both dance and birth exist in a realm where hours can fly by or one moment can last an eternity. The common forces I notice in these places are are rigor, sensation and surrender. I believe in honoring and working deeply within this midpoint between lost and found to holistically engage with birth and dance.

I began my training as a dancer when I was two years old in “mommy & me” ballet class in a sleepy Northern California town. I picked up jazz and tap and also started studying taekwondo around the age of 5. I continued pursuing both dance and martial arts until I received my second degree black belt. I went on to earn BFA in Dance Performance with a minor Peace Studies from Chapman University. While at university, I had the opportunity to train at the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, which was very formative for me as an artist. After graduating, I moved to East Los Angeles to dance professionally while simultaneously being more and more called to birth work. The more I looked into it, the more I found birth to be the most interesting and earnest form of dance I could possibly imagine. In May of 2021, I completed my training and certification as a birth doula with Ana Hill IBCLC through Rocky Mountain Doula. I have been attending births since. I am currently taking my first steps toward become a midwife.

I trust and revere the body’s inherent ability to do what it has always done: dance, make babies, feel pleasure and pain, heal, relax, regulate or just exist. I firmly stand by holistic care rooted in evidence based information from well researched sources and truly informed consent. I believe every birthing person deserves an empowering birth experience. I cannot promise that your pregnancy and birth will unfold without any complications, but I can promise my earnest support through the process.
